Tools Shop Group, the London tools and hardware retail chain, is among the latest companies to declare its support for the Rainy Day Trust by signing up as a partner of the Trust.

“Tools Shop Group are proud to support our industry charity,” said group director Vin Vara. “We believe that it is important to give something back, and support those in our industry who have fallen on hard times. We feel proud to be part of a special group of companies to support this worthy cause, and we intend to promote RDT to all our customers with point of sale material, through our website, and on company stationery.”

Mr Vara, who recently joined the RDT board as a trustee, wants to promote the trust’s work more through independent retailers and suppliers who are not already RDT Partners. “We will ask our suppliers to support the work of the RDT as well,” he said.

The Rainy Day Trust, founded in 1843, provides financial and other support for everyone working in or who has worked in the home improvement and housewares industry in any capacity, and who now finds that they need a helping hand.
