Our staff and first aiders were unexpectedly called into action on Monday 16th May, when a customer suffered a heart attack whilst at our Manchester branch.
Both Keith Walker and Kirsty Tyson, who were the first aiders on site at the time, quickly assessed the situation and the customer's condition to find he wasn’t breathing and had sustained a head injury. Whilst staff screened off the area, the first aiders set to work performing CPR on the customer and applied pressure to his head injury until paramedics arrived.
Although the customer left in a critical condition, we have been informed he is now stable, although still in hospital. We had a lovely phone call and a large bunch of flowers from the customers family thanking Kirsty and Keith for their quick action, the family also added that according to the paramedics, the actions of the Stax staff and the CPR undoubtedly gave their father the best chance of a full recovery.
Once again, well done to Keith and Kirsty and our thoughts are, of course, with the customer and his family.
