The UK’s leading producer of garden products manufactured from recycled rubber has signed an exclusive new distribution deal with Stax Trade Centres. The deal will see a comprehensive selection of innovative and environmentally-friendly stepping stones, garden edging and planters made by Bingley based Primeur Ltd become available through the Stax Trade Centres UK network.
“Primeur were the first company to introduce washable doormats into the UK in 1995, and since then they have constantly developed their products,” explains Stax purchasing director Simon Wright. “We’re delighted to add the results of their innovative approach to our product portfolio. Products with strong environmental credentials are increasingly popular with our customers and being made from recycled vehicle tyres places the Primeur range firmly in that category, as well as creating products that are also durable and virtually indestructible.”
“We recognised Stax as a fellow industry supplier with a strong reputation, and an enviable track record, who could provide us with a proven route through to the customers we want to target,” comments Primeur’s sales director Jenny Douthwaite. “We have not worked with a distribution partner before, but we felt that working with Stax was the next logical step in our development.”
The Primeur garden edging, stepping stones and planters will not crack, fade, stain or rot, and being non-toxic and lawn-mower and strimmer safe, they are perfect for using on lawns or in allotments. They add to the 6,000-strong range of gardening lines which Stax already offers to both national retail groups and independent retailers.
“This is a sector of the market where we have been experiencing considerable growth as we continue to improve our offering,” adds Simon Wright. “Our customers will now be able to access Primeur products and enjoy all the benefits of buying from Stax, such as competitive wholesale prices, flexible minimum orders which can be made up from any Stax product lines, a generous rebate scheme, a reliable delivery service and online order management.”
“Primeur continues to grow as a business and we have earned quite a number of industry accolades in recent years, including the GIMA Sword of Excellence and the Glee Best New Product,” adds Jenny. “Partnering with Stax will help us to get our proposition across to an even wider range of customers and increase our level of success. We are looking forward to Stax supporting our customers in a way we haven’t previously been able to, particularly in terms of a lower minimum order quantity and greater exposure through their UK stores. It’s also great to partner with a company that recognises and appreciates the importance of bringing to market more environmentally friendly and sustainable ranges.”
