Tradesman and handymen can expect to see a boost in insulation work after recommendations from the National Home Improvement Council (NHIC).
Andrew Leech has recommended that Homeowners unable to afford an extension invest in better insulation to improve the value of their home. Further to this he outlined the benefits of installing an en suite in big bedrooms.
"One thing we would urge people to do if they can't afford to have a full extension, is to look at the insulation of their homes – loft insulation, cavity wall insulation.
There are other potential ways around improving what you have already got without going outside the envelope."
- Andrew Leech
These comments came after research by Sainsbury’s Home Insurance finds that almost a third of Brits were unaware that they need to inform their insurer before starting structural alterations on the home.
