In a survey of 1,000 people a study found that 49% of respondents plan to renovate in their current home through 2015. They reportedly are expected to spend an average of £5,500 or more.

Only 6% intended to sell their homes after improvements. There was variance nationwide, with 35% of Scottish homeowners planning a renovation of approximately £4,600 in 2015. Homeowners in the Southwest plan to dig deeper spending £10,400 on extensions, decorating along with other renovations. Northern Ireland is set to have the biggest increase in home renovation, rising a huge 173%.
